Glastonbury 2010
Glastonbury Festival is the premier UK music festival - every year hundreds of thousands of people flock to Pilton Farm in Somerset to enjoy the music, mayhem and mud.
Glastonbury 2010 saw multiple stages using ChamSys consoles including the Other Stage, and resident MagicQ Pro 2010 consoles at the John Peel Stage, East Dance Tent, Park Stage, Leftfield Stage, Avalon Main Stage and of course the much talked about CubeHenge Installation.
The MagicQ Pro range has become increasingly popular and the festival demand reflected this very much. Acts including Flaming Lips, Editors, Mumford & Sons, The XX, Foals, Marina and the Diamonds and many more used ChamSys MagicQ Pro consoles on their stages and ChamsSys had a a very busy time indeed at this years festival.
Lighting Designers for Flaming Lips Ian Turner, Mumford & Sons - Ed Warren and also Editors LD Cate Carter and Ali Pike for The XX, all tour permanently with MagicQ Pro 2010 consoles on their own tours.
The XX - Lighting Designer Ali Pike

The Mercury Award winning band The XX have spent this year touring with a ChamSys MagicQ MQ100 and Playback Wing specified by LD Ali Pike.
"I have been using ChamSys on The XX since April, with a MagicQ Maxi Wing for fly-in dates, and touring a MagicQ MQ100 Pro 2010 and Playback Wing for production shows. I love how easy it is to find my way around the desk, everything feels really intuitive. The Pixel Mapping has added a new dimension to my shows, and even after only short instruction I am finding it really easy to create some great effects.
"The simple fixture exchange has saved me hours at festivals, making our show consistent whatever the house rig."
Mumford & Sons - Lighting Designer Ed Warren
LD Ed Warren used a ChamSys MQ100 Pro 2010 console for his Glastonbury set and the Mumford & Sons World tour.
"I love using the MagicQ as it combines all the best aspects of my favourite desks into one user friendly unit. Its easy to adapt to it as there are so many different ways to go about doing things; because of this its actually fun to use. Not to mention the big chunky buttons which are extremely enjoyable to press. Living the dream."
Editors - Lighting Designer Cate Carter

Cate Carter, a rising star in the lighting world, has recently been converted to ChamSys.
"I started using the MQ100 and Extra wing at the start of Editors summer festival tour in May. I chose the MQ100 because I wanted a compact and lightweight, yet powerful console that would be easy to get in and out of FOH towers, and that would be able to handle multiple universes of dmx, allowing me to patch into the larger festival rigs.
"One of the main reasons for choosing this console for the festival tour was the fixture Morph and Clone functions. I am finding this really quick, easy and reliable to use. Even when set-up and programming time has been minimal - I have been able to get my show up and running on the festival rigs with minimum fuss.
"Also, the in built pixel mapping has been a really handy function, allowing me to get much more out of our floor package without having to carry a media server as well!"
The Editors tour was a Siyan contract and Siyan invested in a group of MagicQ consoles due to their demand. The MagicQ Pro 2010 is the popular choice of Lighting Designers now.
FatBoy Slim at the East Dance Tent

LD Steve Abbiss using a MagicQ MQ300 Execute Pro 2010 to provide his usual visual spectacular.
Steve is a regular user of MagicQ consoles having recently specified one for the Beverly Knight tour. Steve's hands on operating style for Fatboy is easily satisified by the MagicQ MQ300 with all its buttons and faders. Steve has worked with ChamSys to suggest further improvements to the live operating capabilities - we recently added a new Tap To Go on Select buttons specifically on his request!
CubeHenge

The much talked about CubeHenge by Cube Concepts was controlled by a ChamSys MagicQ Wing system. Cube Concepts were over the moon at how little fuss and how great an effect. ChamSys have also been asked to work on other Cube Concepts projects.
